Last week i picked up this SA model 1911 Ronin operator 4.25

yes its lighter than a 1967 colt 1911 but not by much once you load up 8 rounds of 230 grain it has an alloy frame with forged steel slide and workings.
it actually handles well, but my bear paws are a bit large for the skinny frame so a set of pacmyre grips are in the mail
i had a few targeting issues, but resolved them yesterday and then started making progress to get back to the 2" circle of love

i had been looking for one, for some time and my local armory guy finally got one from Springfield

Very nice. I was gifted a Kimber Stainless II a few months ago and I have large or x-large hands but medium length fingers. I noticed I was pulling the pistol when squeezing the trigger because the grip was thinner than my plastic double stack guns. It will take some getting use to but they are oh so smooth.

yep thats me... couple of meat hooks with long fingers, my wifes 1911 has the pacmyre grips that really add tons of stabilization, hopefully they will to this one.
my XDs are hmm thick, its night and day
but i wanted another 1911 really bad :D :D

Darker color looks good with the black slide.

agreed, the black grips compliment the alloy lighter colored frame,
it needed that little bit of useful bling and comfort
