Great comment by Mike V:
“ If someone told me hiring the Brewer Law Firm was part of a plot to drive the NRA into insolvency, I’d believe them at this point. After all, if our enemies were in charge, what would they do differently?”

NRA Paid A Lot For Leaderships’ Club Dues
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... club-dues/
Director Willes Lee cites the NY forensic accountant’s report, pointing out that about $200,000 was charged to NRA Amex cards, by NRA leadership, for its club dues–SCI, the National Press Club, the Columbia Club, and the Georgetown Club. The latter’s website describes it as “one of the most elegant dining clubs in the United States, patterned after the finest in London and Paris.”

Nearly $80,000 of this was for Woody Phillips, who as treasurer couldn’t claim club membership was necessary to carrying out his NRA duties.

Expert Witness Report
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... ss-report/
The NY Attorney General has filed the expert witness report https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef ... V1Ig%3D%3D of Jeff Tenenbaum, who’s practiced non-profit law for 26 years, and advised hundreds of non-profits on the law. Here are a few points he makes:

Trial delayed until January 2024. It's sure to be a hot topic for primary season.

On a related note, this is a poorly formatted copy of Willes Lee's FB page. He's right, but I have to ask where he was on these issues before he got booted from 1VP.

Willes Lee was part of the problem....he seemed okay with all of what was going on until he didn't get his promotion.

Comment from David Dell'Aquila
The quote “One is never so dangerous when one has no shame” accurately describes Willis Lee.
Lee’s diatribe is scandalous when Lee only complained after he was removed from office days away from becoming the next NRA President.

Four years ago, during the last secret dinner that Lee always attended, Lee refused to listen to my evidence against Wayne and his cronies. In fact, Lee criticized me for speaking out against Wayne.

Everything Lee has stated is directly applicable to him. He complains about issues with board members being there for “15-20 years,” but what about the issues in the last 10 years when Lee was on the Board and was an NRA officer for four plus years.

I reiterate to Lee and his 8,000 Facebook followers: No judge will allow Lee to ever sit on the new NRA board given his ineptitude in oversight and accountability.

NRA Paid $12.5 Million To Ackerman To Settle; Agreement Could Be Revealed To Board
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... -to-board/
Months ago, NRA “leadership” informed the board of directors that NRA had settled the lawsuit that its former PR agency, Ackerman McQueen, had brought against it. The board was told that it could not be told the terms, because they were confidential, on “need to know” access, but hints were dropped that Ackerman paid NRA to settle.

Here’s the agreement. Ackerman didn’t pay NRA. NRA paid Ackerman $12.5 million of its members’ money. The agreement has no confidentiality clause with regards to the board of directors. Section 6 says its terms may not be disclosed “beyond legal counsel and . . . directors, owners and officers” except on a need-to-know basis. It could be disclosed to directors, with or without need-to-know.
More at the link. NRA "leadership" lying to the board, covering up...you know all the same stuff that's been going on. Ring up another loss for Brewer.

Comments are great...pointing at particular Audit Committee directors who are complicit in the shenanigans.

My 5-year membership expired several months ago. I got numerous emails begging for money for awhile, but now I get nothing from them. Good!

Been awhile since posting any updates on the shenanigans of the NRA.

Motion To Depose Col. Lee Granted
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... e-granted/
Based upon his social media posts which seemingly contradict his previous testimony.

“Excess Benefits”
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... -benefits/
“Excess Benefits” is a tax term, meaning money paid to a non-profit’s executives which shouldn’t have been paid. It can mean an unreasonably high salary, or (more usually) money that they misappropriated for themselves, and got caught.

NRA Files 2022 Audit
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... 022-audit/
It’s filed with the North Carolina Secretary of State. Click here on “Audit.” It shows a continuing financial disaster. Over 2021-2022 dues income fell from $97 million to $83 million, a 15% drop that indicates a loss of around 350,000 annual members last year alone. Assets fell from $211 million to $174 million. Liability for notes payable and lines of credit nearly doubled, from $24 million to $43 million.

Long-term, over the last ten years (2012 – 2022), NRA’s overall revenues have fallen from $344 million to $213 million, a fall of nearly 40%.
NRA’S Rating As A Charity
https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2023/ ... a-charity/
Charity Navigator is a rating website where potential donors can look up a charity that they might contribute to. Second Amendment Foundation’s rating is “great,” 4 stars, 93%. GOA’s Gun Owners’ Foundation gets three stars and 86%.

Here’s the entry for NRA. “Proceed with increased caution.” “Not currently rated. . . . See rating report below for why this organization is not currently eligible.” Below the entry are links to 40 major newspaper articles on NRA’s financial scandals and its filing for bankruptcy. NRA Foundation’s entry shows a similar non-rating and links to articles.

Thanks. I was aware of all of those and would have shared them here, but I don't have my forum login saved on my phone. I've been doing all my internet stuff just from my phone while my wife is hospitalized (since 8/18/23), except for the rare night when I can come home and use my computer.
