The same Gov Abbott who went along with the draconian lockdowns and destruction of Texans’ businesses and lives? The same Gov Abbott who deployed 1000 Texas National Guard troops to aid and abet the Democrat Socialist agenda in DC this week?

I don’t trust him to do anything that will cause the left to unleash their fury upon him.

And then there’s the problem of the let’s all get along Texas Republicans who willingly allow the Democrats to have power over them.

Yep that's the same govenor who has raised $100 million in campaign funds and has put 6 figure donors on his China virus advisory committee.

The same govenor who keeps inviting liberal companies and their liberal voting workers and CEO's to move to Texas and handing them tax breaks to do so knowing that they will be shaping the future politics in Texas.

The same govenor who told us a limit on our property tax increases was a tax break because we aren't smart enough to know the difference.

He does what he does to further his political future and nothing else.

While this might go through, it only effects new laws and does nothing to get rid of the other infringements on the 2A. This is nothing more than another feather in his political hat.

I haven't agreed with all of his decisions, nor with all of the RINOs in the Texas House and Senate, but, I think he has done more to advance 2A rights in Texas, than his previous predecessors. We will see, as the Legislative session unfolds, whether or not, he is truly going to stand up for us, or if we need to look for a replacement. I have inundated my representatives, with pleas to push for 2A Sanctuary status, Constitutional carry, and reduction in prohibited, locations, for LTC holders.

I have a question. I've emailed several reps about gun bills.
What is the best way or preferred way to contact? Letter, email, phone call. Is one preferred over another?

I would argue that visiting them in person is going to have the most weight. If you are unable to visit in person, a phone call is the next best thing. A written and mailed letter is going to have more weight than an email. Basically, they look at the amount of effort you went to in order to reach out to them. The more effort you went to, the more important the issue appears to be.

I hope this helps.

Agreed. We had a session at the HCRP with precinct chairs invited to discuss the legislative session. By all accounts, visiting them in Austin sends a loud and clear message that you mean business, and because of the relative challenge of doing so vs. writing a letter or making a phone call, the wiser ones in the room gave it about 1000x more weight than either of the other methods.

My reps probably get tired of hearing from me. I use every method available, but I have found that face to face, is the most effective. Most of my in person contacts, have occurred, at events rather than in their office, because of my work schedule, meeting them during their office hours is difficult. I did receive a phone call from my house reps office after an email I sent.

The main thing is to contact them. The more input they receive, the more likely they are to support legislation we want to see enacted.

Better hurry:

Gun control bill from Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee would create national firearm registry, require licensing
