Re: impeachment this week or not

I decided to repost this as a second draft. It has some things the recent news made me want to put in, plus Tam's advice on how to make term limits work including the bureaucrats. I also appreciate the other discussion and help with this. I am more than willing to listen to other suggestions, some o...

Re: impeachment this week or not

One of the big problems with term limits is that I have not yet figured out what is a reasonable term limit and how to allow for a good person to learn and work his way up through representative and into senator and then vice president or president. I could see keeping the current president/vice pr...

Re: impeachment this week or not

Without term limits your new system will fail just like the old one. Citizen statesman who go do the job for a few years and then return to private life is what the Founders envisioned. Creating a new swamp of lifetime politicians won’t work. You might be right about it. I think that this will not ...

Re: impeachment this week or not

Term limits for Reps and Senators? I am not a big fan of term limits for anyone. If they are not doing a good job, vote them out. I prefer to fix the system by making the elections more fair by not allowing any party affiliation or incumbency on the ballot and opening up ballot access. I am still c...

Re: impeachment this week or not

I agree with the part about abolishing any federal agencies not specifically allowed in the Constitution. Look for my next edit to add line 21. But with any kind of taxing authority given, which I feel we must have, that agency has to have a collections and enforcement arm. Audits are part of the en...

Re: impeachment this week or not

That said .... I would more than welcome such a convention occurring in the wake of a successful revolution/CW2/Balkanization, in which the cause of liberty is represented by the majority, and is immune to the quisling lunatics of the left. In that kind of light, I'd be very interested in how you w...

Re: impeachment this week or not

One is a CW2. The other is Balkanization. The latter would result in less loss of life and destruction of property and wealth. A lightly-stepping federal gov’t is preferable to either remedy, but it is also extremely unlikely. I’m arguing that people will naturally gravitate toward Balkanization. I...

Re: The Power of Presidential Executive Orders

Gold isn’t a protected constitutional amendment. It doesn’t mean that a sitting presidential executive order can’t or wouldn’t wreck havoc on our rights, but there are a lot more legalities in firearms vs gold. Actually, this is 100% allowed by the Constitution for property in general. The reason t...

Re: impeachment this week or not

srothstein, here is my logic, FWIW, IF he is convicted..... Article 1 Section 3, Clauses 6 & 7: The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments.  When sitting for that purpose, they shall be on oath or affirmation.  When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justic...

Re: Deans Defensive Shooting - Home Intruder

I have been indoctrinated too well in two different areas. I truly agree with the video presentations, especially in the first video. I thin he was too slow to shoot considering he had his gun out and aimed in the third video, And I think I would have had a reaction in the second video which probabl...
