Re: NRA Lawsuit
Short version: "Yep, we did it. We guilty as hell." https://nraindanger.wordpress.com/2022/10/16/nra-files-answer-in-ny-ag-lawsuit/ Even with admissions of guild...legions of NRA true believers will still contend that nothing needs to be changed, that Lapierre and the rest of the gang sho...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
What a mess! Reading that letter made me dizzy. I keep wondering if there are good guys and bad guys in NRA leadership -- past and present. The more I see, the more I sense that there are only bad ones. I'm hopeful that, one day, the full story will be told. Maybe the lawsuit will force the story out?

Re: CNN: NRA was involved in Senate gun deal, “got what they wanted”
Unfortunately Cornyn cannot be recalled according to this article: https://texasscorecard.com/federal/no-you-cannot-recall-john-cornyn/ I'm not sure Cornyn would be recalled even if it were possible to do so. He continues to win primary elections, so he's getting support from a majority of Republic...

Re: White House moves to strangle US ammunition supply
I'm looking forward to seeing if the NRA takes any action on this. Or perhaps if some other group does.

Re: Letter received from Cornyn
You got a more substantive response from him than I ever did. I quit trying to communicate with him a couple years ago. I just vote against him in primaries -- to no avail. It seems like he dwells exclusively on all the things he's done in the last few years and says nothing about what he's scheming...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
Thanks for the link to that write-up -- not a pretty picture. The largest single NRA expenditure is legal fees; the amount is not specified in the write-up. Meanwhile, $13,000 is spent on the School Shield Program -- a pittance. One point that I did not realize until after reading through some comme...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
I read the article and was disgusted by it. The actions of their president -- who we know well -- ruling uncomplimentary resolutions as "out of order", suggest that the NRA has become an organization dedicated to the enrichment and entertainment of its officers and board, and only tangenti...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
I'm probably missing something but it sure sounds like Ollie North was on to something when he was ousted. I wonder why he didn't make more noise when he was president. On the other hand, I'm probably a bit slow on the uptake and this has already been well understood and discussed...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
I've seen some folks celebrating -- elsewhere -- this decision as a great victory for the NRA. IANAL, but I had a look at the decision anyway, and my amateur reading of the decision suggests that it is nothing to celebrate. The decision leaves intact allegations of incompetence, malfeasance, and lap...

Re: NRA Lawsuit
From my vantage point, the NRA seems to be completely focused on internal issues, and has failed to join any recent "gun control" debates. The organization has become irrelevant to gun owners. Maybe I'm missing something?
