Re: More CA insanity
I just did something very unusual for me. I like the Bee, but this time I started laughing and clicked the like button as soon as I saw your post title. And reading the article only made it worse.

Re: Man killed while resisting arrest in Minneapolis was a criminal
Let’s look at the numbers, shall we? In 2020, there were 27 black men killed by police. Of those only 6 were unarmed. Only 4 of them were killed by white police officers. White police officers make up 78% of all officers, which is consistent with overall demographics of the population. If there wer...

Re: Man killed while resisting arrest in Minneapolis was a criminal
I take exception to the Title of this thread. A warrant for an arrest is not a criminal conviction. Anyone of us could have a warrant for our arrest for any circumstance. Innocent until proven guilty. I agree with you on this point, up to a point. We have no proof that he was a criminal based on th...

Re: Man killed while resisting arrest in Minneapolis was a criminal
Little food for thought: https://bearingarms.com/tomknighton/2021/04/15/wright-gun-control-n43608 Now, I'm not defending this guy, sounds like jail would have been the best place for him. However, as pointed out in the article, he had no been convicted of anything, and the warrant was for carrying ...

Re: Man killed while resisting arrest in Minneapolis was a criminal
He had a misdemeanor warrant. Resisting arrest in MN is a misdemeanor. Nothing in this case justifies shooting him, which is why both the chief and the officer resigned, and the officer has been charged with 2nd Degree Manslaughter. I am not sure the warrant was for a misdemeanor. It was a bond rev...

Even more aggregiously, Garcia was apparently joined by DPA President Mike Mata: https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2021/04/13/dallas-police-association-joins-other-law-enforcement-professionals-experts-in-opposing-permitless-carry-of-firearms/ As I pointed out to a friend when he asked me about this, the th...

Re: a come to Jesus talk with neighbor an hour ago
Culturally, western and eastern MD are more separated than Alabama and NYC. My brother, who grew up in Philly and is the token liberal in the family now lives in the Lancaster County area in PA. He is constantly complaining about the conservative attitudes that are strong in the middle of PA. Physi...

Re: a come to Jesus talk with neighbor an hour ago
Everyone north of the Mason-Dixon line is a damn yankee. I have to respectfully disagree. Everyone who lives above the MD line is just a Yankee. They don’t become a Damn Yankee until they move down here!! I think you misspelled it. There is an old saying that I did not know damnyankee was...

As if I needed more reason to avoid that state.
