Re: It appears the CHL forum is down again

Still offline as of 9:51 AM on 5/16/2021. I hope it wasn't catastrophic. The database of knowledge in the archive is quite extensive. I don't remember seeing any postings about updating and I think they told us ahead of time the last time, but I can't remember for sure.

Re: Looks like TexasCHLForum may be coming back!

Down again as of 2:40 pm Central time. I am all for having both. There was some great stuff there, but certain aspects of the gun community discussion were frowned upon or censored. I think as long as we are civil, we should be able to discuss things like the pros and cons of the NRA, various gun la...

Re: Looks like TexasCHLForum may be coming back!

When I started to login after seeing Pawpaw's post, I got a notification from my Antivirus Setup that: "An attempt to send your password unencrypted, in plain text, was prevented on this page. View more details in the Notifications area of your Bitdefender security solution." I have never ...

Re: Anyone carry a switchblade knife?

I realize that they’re a non-issue here in Texas, but I want knives that I don’t have to worry about traveling with them, and I just don’t see any tactical or handiness advantage of an automatic over a good folder that flips open quickly with one hand, justifying the increased cost. I have no philo...

Re: Anyone carry a switchblade knife?

The Kershaw Blur is a good knife. Carried one for years and never had an issue. Switched over to the OTF for ease of use and speed but still use the Blur for work when needed.

Re: The "new" gray colored license

Yeah, it seems like both the TX DL and LTC are now designed to be a "worse" form of picture identification, due to the lack of color and all the added "security". Is it really that hard to do a decent color picture?

Re: Anyone carry a switchblade knife?

Microtech makes some nice ones as well. https://microtechknives.com/ However, if you are looking for a good starter OTF that won't break the budget, the Lightning series have been ones I use out working. They aren't as light or pretty, but they get the job done, and at the price, if I ruin one, I ca...

Re: .41 Magnum

For the under educated on revolvers, why not get a .44 Magnum and have so many more options (other than simply collecting, which is a good reason in itself)?

Re: Looks like TexasCHLForum may be coming back!

Yeah the metrics on that website TAM took a pic of are all over the place for the website. This morning, it looked like it had only been down for a couple of minutes, and around 3 pm, it said it came back up but was a down again at 3pm. Now its only showing the last hour.
